The Membership Rewards points earned through the American Express® Cobalt Card in Canada are generally worth between 0.7 to 2 cents CAD per point, depending on how they are redeemed:
1. Travel Redemptions: Points are most valuable when transferred to airline programs like Aeroplan or hotel programs like Marriott Bonvoy. In these cases, the value can range from 1.5 to 2 cents per point.
2. Fixed Points Travel Program: When using the Amex Fixed Points Travel Program for flights, you can achieve a value of up to 2 cents per point.
3. Statement Credits: When redeemed for statement credits, points are typically worth around 0.7 cents per point.
4. Gift Cards and Merchandise: These redemptions also provide 0.7 to 1 cent per point, similar to statement credits.
For maximizing the value, redeeming points for travel, especially by transferring to airline or hotel partners, offers the highest return.
