• Flights: The best value for Aeroplan points is when they are redeemed for flights with Air Canada or its Star Alliance partners. You can expect a value of 1.5 to 2.5 cents per point, particularly for long-haul international flights or premium class (business or first-class) seats.
• Hotels, car rentals, and gift cards: These redemptions typically offer a lower value, around 0.5 to 1 cent per point.
• Merchandise: Using Aeroplan points for merchandise or gift cards tends to yield the lowest value, closer to 0.5 to 1 cent per point.
For optimal value, redeeming points for flights—especially for premium cabins—offers the highest return. Some strategic flight bookings can even push the value beyond 2.5 cents per point
